Our main initiatives

Energy

The venue implements energy-saving measures by using only green electricity and reducing unnecessary energy consumption. Energy use is carefully controlled through management of lighting, heating, and ventilation, heating, and air conditioning (HVAC). In addition, the facility is equipped with LED lighting to further save energy.

Travels and accommodation

Easyfairs reduces travel-related emissions by selecting preferred accommodation partners based on sustainability criteria. The venue provides bicycle parking and nearby electric vehicle charging stations. We encourage carpooling to the event and recommend using public transportation to further minimize environmental impact.

Shipment & Logistics

Easyfairs’ booth packages reduce transport emissions and waste, and we select our suppliers based on sustainability criteria. We apply these criteria in our contracts and choose suppliers according to their sustainability efforts in transportation.

Production & Waste

We implement a strict waste management and reduction plan and limit plastic use at our events. Waste is carefully sorted, and we use reusable floor tiles during our events. Additionally, our Smart Badge technology enables a significant reduction in paper usage for our exhibitors.

Food & Food waste

We apply sustainable food sourcing principles at our catering outlets, reduce food waste, and donate surplus food to charity. We encourage our suppliers to use portion control to minimize waste, offer vegetarian and vegan options, and serve no red meat in our lunch restaurants.

Social responsibility

We strive to be an inclusive team that embraces diversity and provides equal opportunities for all, while embedding sustainability at the core of our events. Our event seminar programs focus on sustainability topics, and we offer a platform for startups to showcase their groundbreaking innovations.

Here are some practical tips on how to make your participation more sustainable.

Stand design & waste

Choose a reusable booth package from the organizer or design your own booth so that the structure can be reused year after year. Work with your booth builder to make your stand as sustainable as possible! Avoid creating a single-use stand just for one event. Create reusable signage (without dates) made from recyclable materials and environmentally friendly ink whenever possible. Use LED lighting and other energy-efficient equipment for your booth, and remember to turn it off at the end of the day. Try to avoid using carpeting, and if you really need it, opt for reusable floor tiles. If you use standard carpet, make sure it is recyclable and will actually be recycled.

Whenever possible, choose public transportation or carpool with your colleagues. Select a hotel within walking distance and/or apply environmentally friendly practices

Logistics & transportation

Consolidate your shipments and, whenever possible, use transport and logistics companies that follow sustainable practices. Prefer local suppliers to support the local economy and reduce transportation. Choose suppliers with strong environmental and social credentials.

Bring your own reusable water bottle and use our water stations to help us reduce single-use plastic. If you are serving food at your booth, choose locally produced and plant-based options whenever possible and avoid single-use plastics. Minimize food waste by ordering only the amount of food you need.

Take an active role in the various initiatives and discussions during the event that support sustainable development within your sector. Inspire visitors by showcasing the sustainable features of your products.
